Laser Vision Correction / LASIK

At Warrenville EyeCare, we are committed to excellence and offer patients the most precise, state of the art technology for Laser Vision Correction.   Laser Vision Correction is a brief outpatient procedure that can substantially reduce one’s need to wear glasses or contacts.  The most popular method of Laser Vision Correction is LASIK surgery.  Dr. Nijm is certified and experienced in both the Allegretto Wavelight excimer laser and the AMO VISX CustomVue excimer laser for LASIK.  She performs LASIK completely blade-free, using a precise, advanced laser called the Intralase to create the initial flap followed by an excimer laser to reshape the cornea.  This advanced, unique treatment offers many patients the opportunity to reduce, or even eliminate, their dependency on glasses or contacts utilizing the most advanced technology available. 

LASIK or other vision correction surgeries can be used to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Patients who have reasonable expectations from the procedure and who understand that any surgical procedure always has certain risks associated with it are the best candidates for the procedure.

Vision correction surgery is not for everyone. If you qualify as a candidate for vision correction, Dr. Nijm will recommend the best procedure for your visual needs. If you don’t qualify as a candidate, she will tell you that as well.
